12 October 2016 - More tickets have been released for the joint Catholic-Lutheran Commemoration of the Reformation on 31 October in Lund and Malm�, Sweden, co-hosted by The Lutheran World Federation and the Catholic Church. A first round of tickets for the event at the Malm� arena released a month ago quickly sold out. The new round of tickets can be purchased from Ticketmaster for 100 Swedish krona (10 Euros) with revenues earmarked for strife-torn Syria.

11 October 2016 - The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) and the Catholic Church will jointly commemorate 500 years of the Reformation on 31 October in Lund and Malm�, Sweden, marking the first time in history that Catholics and Lutherans observe the anniversary together at a global level. In preparation, LWF General Secretary Rev. Dr Martin Junge and Kurt Cardinal Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity have jointly written an article elaborating the background of the Joint Commemoration, milestones of the nearly 50 years of international dialogue between Lutherans and Catholics, and some new details on the event at the end of this month.

Together in Hope in Malmö Arena

On 31 October Pope Francis, LWF President Bishop Dr Munib A. Younan and LWF General Secretary Rev. Dr Martin Junge will lead the Joint Ecumenical Commemoration in Lund Cathedral and Malm� Arena. The arena in Malm� can host up to 10,000 people and tickets for that event will be released on Friday 9 September. The first tickets will be made available at 11:00 GMT+02:00 on the Ticketmaster website. Each ticket costs 100 SEK (10 EUROS). The entire proceeds of the ticket sale will support projects of The Lutheran World Federation and Caritas Internationalis with Syrian refugees in the Middle East.
